OUIL603 - Stress monster development

To help distinguish the Stress Monster from the Scared Monster I tried to make the characters stance look quite rigid and on edge. I thought that using a really busy body shape would communicate stress well, as well as his gritted teeth.
I was pretty happy with the body shape, so I didn't play around with that too much, I spent time instead changing his facial expression and limbs, I kept them simple so they didn't make the character look too busy.

For the final papercut design I used a mixture of gouache, pastel and pencil to get an interesting texture.
Throughout this project I've tried tp stay away from using digital as much as possible, but I've found that my work comes out a lot better if I focus on creating images by hand first, to as much of a finished state as possible, and then using photoshop to enhance it.
